Quick & Easy Purging Tips for any space

If you’ve ever done yoga you know how great it feels to move stagnant energy in your body and mind.  Well did you know that getting rid of physical clutter in your home does the same thing?   At the end of the day any and all clutter in your home is an obstacle to living your best life.  Here are a few easy tips to get started now:

  1. Don’t keep things just in case!  Trust that the universe will take care of you.  Real-life application: just in case you ever get back into those high school skinny jeans, treat yourself to a new pair!

  2. Ask yourself two simple questions to judge whether to keep a certain item: Do you love it?  Do you use it?  If it doesn’t fit those categories, ask yourself why you have it and keep it only if it’s a truly valid reason.

  3. Get rid of all unfinished projects like toys that need to be repaired, ripped pants that need sewing, etc.  Either do them right now or admit to yourself it’s not worth it (otherwise you would have already done it right?).  Everything you own has a call to your attention, unfinished projects keep you living in the past and your energy tied up in unfinished matters, not the possibilities of the future.

  4. Keep donation receptacles in several areas of your home to make it easy to get rid of things.  Sweater not fitting or looking quite right?  Don’t just throw it back into the drawer taking up precious space with the sweaters you do love and wear, keep a small basket in your closet so you can toss it right into the donation pile.

Remember, your home is a reflection of who you are and you deserve to feel proud of it (even hidden clutter counts!).  Get rid of the physical junk that’s not serving you to start moving the inner junk.
