Organize Your Bedside Table

Most bedside tables are a cluttered mess!  Not trying to talk trash here, just stating the facts.  But it doesn’t have to be this way… read on for how to get a handle on this area.

First off, there are two types of bedside tables, those with storage and those without.

If you don’t have any storage, you are actually lucky because this will force you to be a minimalist.  Keep only what you absolutely need with no extras.  On mine, I have a sleep mask, the current book I’m reading and my phone (I normally recommend keeping phones out of the room all together but I have a baby and my monitor is on my phone so I have to have it there), and that’s it!

But if you have storage, this is where things can get a little tricky as it is really easy to let the drawer or drawers turn into a junk dumping spot.  Even if you have a few drawers, fill them with just the daily essentials.  So maybe you keep your lip balm, cuticle oil and a lotion in there.  Just make sure this is stuff you actually use a) in bed and b) on a regular basis.

If you have multiple drawers in a bedside table only one should be used for your ‘nighttime stuff’, you should utilize the other drawers for something like underwear or PJs and save yourself some space in another dresser or closet.

Go through the drawer/s on a regular basis to make sure they aren’t turning into a junk drop zone and ask yourself if you are still regularly using the items in there.  Let’s say now that it’s summer you aren’t using your cuticle oil most nights so you put that away where you keep your nail stuff.  Get it?  Cool, now go do some purging!
